![]() Your data has been securely erased at this time, and your Apple ID is no longer attached. Click on restart and we’ll be back at the main setup screen so you can see everything booted up. We’re now at the setup page where it’s writing out the word ‘Hello’ over and over in different languages. It will indicate your Mac has been activated and will restart in a minute. ![]() You’ll see that it’s now linked to your network and that it’s starting to activate the Mac on its own. Selecting your network, logging in, and then activating, but if you want to return it or sell it to someone else, all you have to do is go to Apple and click shut off and you’re done! Mac activationĮverything is securely wiped, but if you want to activate this to get to the setup screen so you can continue, click the tiny network icon in the upper right. On the activation Mac screen, you can do one of two things: if you’re keeping it for yourself and want to start over, or if you’re giving it to a family member, you can connect it to a network by clicking on the symbol in the upper right. ![]() This took about a minute or so, and now we can select the language we want and click continue. So, simply wait for a small status bar to appear. The computer will power off, reboot, and then boot up after a brief period of erasing everything.
